American Institute’s Dental Assisting students, staff, and faculty took time out from the daily routine to celebrate this field with a variety of food and fun on campuses. Our #AIFamily in Cherry Hill, Somerset, and Toms River, NJ campuses donned t-shirts showing off their love of dental care and Clifton, NJ and West Hartford, CT campuses enjoyed a catered meal together in celebration.
Social media highlighted graduates from the program as well as instructors and program directors all sharing their passion for the field. Toms River graduate Amber P. shared, “Dental Assisting affords me the opportunity to pursue my professional passion while making a positive impact in the community. The dental [assisting] field is constantly evolving, therefore, the ability to expand my knowledge is limitless.”
From assisting with dental procedures to taking X-rays, dental assistants support the dental team in a wide variety of essential tasks, and sometimes the biggest impact they have is on the patient who has anxiety around a visit to the dentist and relies on them with a welcoming smile and gentle support. With beautiful smiles and warm hearts, our Dental Assisting #AIFamily demonstrated for all of us the caring nature of individuals who choose this field as their vocation, and we are grateful they are part of our lives.
The ADAA theme for 2024’s DARW celebration was ‘100 Years Supporting Oral Health’ and ties to the centennial celebration for ADAA in 2024. Our American Institute team particularly enjoyed the synchronicity with our own centennial celebrations in 2024 and looking back on how things have evolved over the past century of dental care.
DARW is a goodtime to give a hearty ‘Thank You!’ to the amazing dental assistants we know and show them how much we appreciate their hard work every day to keep our smiles healthy and our dental visits easy. So, whether you’re a dental assistant yourself or you know one, join American Institute as we pause and celebrate your/their contributions to our dental health!
