American Institute Celebrates 90 Years in Career Training
January 23, 2014, West Hartford, CT – This year American Institute celebrates its 90th Anniversary Year of career training in the northeast. In 1924, American Institute, then known as Hartford Secretarial School, opened its doors to its first class of business students. Since that day, thousands of students have graduated to enjoy careers in the world of business, legal, allied healthcare, diagnostic medical sonography and information technology. Building on its distinguished past, American Institute continues to provide career-focused training with a commitment to service.
The West Hartford campus kicked off a year-long celebration of this milestone with 90 feet of sub sandwiches (and then some!) for students and staff on campus on January 22nd and 23rd. Said Kim Colbert, Campus President, “Our 90 Feet of Food Event was such a great time! Students enjoyed hearing a little bit about the history of American Institute, before sitting down to share lunch/dinner with fellow students, faculty and staff. Here’s to the next 90 years!”
Christopher Coutts, Chief Operating Officer, noted, “This is an important anniversary for our school, and shows our long-standing commitment to the communities where we operate. We’re proud to be a part of this long tradition of helping adults achieve their career goals with career-focused training.”
