October 21-25, 2024, All campuses – This past October, American Institute celebrated Medical Assistants Recognition Week (MARWeek), sponsored by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). According to the AAMA, “The 2024 theme, “Bridging the Gap between Patients and Quality Care,” highlights how medical assistants serve as the vital connection in delivering healthcare.” ¹ This recognition week focuses attention on the hard work of medical assistants, and their contributions to the healthcare teams they are part of as well as their impact to quality patient care.

Medical assistants play a critical role in healthcare by performing a variety of tasks that support both physicians and patients. They are responsible for clinical duties such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with procedures. In addition, their versatility and dedication to help healthcare facilities run smoothly is utilized in administrative duties like medical records management and appointments.

Medical Assistant graduate from our Clifton, NJ campus, Kenneth said, “Our commitment as medical assistants goes beyond tasks; it’s about creating a supportive environment that fosters healing and trust for the patient we serve.”
