May 18-19, 2024, NJ locations– American Institute joined with Massage Therapy professionals across the state of New Jersey in May this year for the inaugural New Jersey Massage Championship. The New Jersey Massage Championship is a recognized member of the U.S. Assoc. of Massage Championships and is supported by the World Massage Festival and the American Massage Championship (licensee of the International Massage Association). Organizers invited all licensed massage therapists (LMTs) as well as students currently training to become one to join in the competition and demonstrate mastery of techniques before a panel of judges.

Our #AIFamily Massage Therapy graduates claimed prizes for demonstrating their techniques, with Dawud A. taking first prize in the Swedish category and Charlene A. placing 2nd! In addition, our own Corporate Director of Massage Therapy, Selene DelValle, was a judge (but to keep it fair for all participants, she was not allowed to judge our students or grads). Over her 25-year career, Selene has worked in a variety of settings with a focus on educating the next generation of massage therapists. She noted, “It’s a privilege to participate in the first state-wide competition for massage therapists in New Jersey this year, and it is a wonderful way to continue my personal mission of mentorship while advancing the profession overall.”
